Christina’s Blog – Hello from Italy!

Hello Central Illinois, this blog is coming to you all the way from Italy! I wanted to give you a brief look into my past few days here in Italy. It's been a whirlwind and non-stop,but an amazing experience.
The trip started off in Rome with a visit to the Coliseum , the Trevi Fountain, the Vatican, Sistine Chapel, and a private tour of St.Peter's Basilica!

It was so surreal, these are sights we see in our textbooks, and there I was standing there looking right at them!  Oh yea did I mention we went to the famous Spanish Steps and a pigeon flew straight into the side of my head! Yes, talk about a grand welcoming; not to mention I'm not the biggest fan of birds ha.

After our couple days in Rome, we were off to Florence where it happened to be their Fashion Week going on. All you fashionistas out there would have loved the store windows and runway shows going on.

Florence is beautiful! We went to the Deumo and also saw the famous statue of David and of course shopped on the Ponte Vecchio Bridge in the gold shops. We took a day trip to Pisa where we actually got to climb to the top. It was such an unbelievable experience with amazing views of the town and countryside.

We also visited the Italian Riviera of Cinque Terre, which is made up of five small towns on mountains down to the sea. We took a 6 hour walking tour of the colorful towns. More than 2000 stairs later we were ready to get back on the bus :). Now, it's off to Venice!  I'll write again soon to fill you all in on the next adventures!  Take care Central Il, I'll be seeing you soon on another blog and of course CW 23.

Ciao,
Christina
