Did you know that nearly 9 million Americans 50 and older are at risk of hunger everyday?
Return to event list.Not only can you help - but you can have fun doing it too! AARP Illinois and the Springfield Senior Center plan to fight senior hunger for the entire month of November. First, we are hosting a Springfield Food Drive Kick-Off Event on November 1st, followed up with AARP Donation Days every Wednesday in November,where you will receive a FREE cloth shopping bag when you donate food. Mark your calendars - we look forward to seeing you on November 1st, and at least one Wednesday in November. There is a $10 entry fee for the Food Drive Kick-off event, which includes appetizers, drinks and entertainment. All proceeds will be used to purchase food vouchers that will benefit hungry seniors in Springfield. |
