An Ethnic Heritage Day celebration featuring African American culture will be held Wednesday, February 27 at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. The event will be held from noon to 1 p.m. in the Pearson Museum (second floor), 801 N. Rutledge St., Springfield.
Return to event list.The program includes a presentation, “The March on Washington” by Dr. Wesley Robinson-McNeese, executive assistant to the dean for diversity, multicultural and minority affairs at SIU. There also will be samples of African-American foods and a display of artifacts. Ethnic Heritage Day celebrations are held regularly at the medical school to share information about various ethnic cultures.
