No Cake, Cookies for Iles School

SPRINGFIELD -- Keep the cake, cookies, and ice cream at home this year if your kid is an Iles School student.

The school is not allowing these or other common treats for school birthdays or other functions. Instead, the school is only allowing what it calls "healthy snacks."

On its website the school lists acceptable choices like: fruit, vegetables, trail mix, or low-fat pudding cups.

The school's staff voted unanimously for the change. Despite a large outcry on our sister station ABC Newschannel 2's facebook page, No Cake, Cookies for Iles School
