"Driving Dead" with Michael Rooker and ISP

Updated: Monday, August 25 2014, 04:30 PM CDT

As we inch closer to summer's finale, IDOT is reminding everyone to be smart on the roads for Labor Day weekend.

We all know the highways will be much busier than usual and unfortunately that often means more people will drive drunk.

In it's neverending quest to combat drunk driving, IDOT launches a new safety campaign starring actor Michael Rooker from the hit show 'The Walking Dead'.

"It's so important because over 900 people lose their lives in illinois on our roadways over 300 of those lose their lives due to a drunk driver and nearly half are unbuckled and we need to see those numbers go down."

The campaign will use digital and social media to reach drivers who are most likely to drive drunk or without a seatbelt.
