Hazardous Weather Outlook

ILLINOIS (AP) This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of central Illinois.  Day 1: Today and tonight, no hazardous weather is expected at this time. Days 2-7: Wednesday through Monday, for interests along the Illinois river, minor flooding is expected through most of the week from Havana to Beardstown. Thunderstorm chances will return by this weekend.

UPDATE: One Dead, One Injured In Springfield Shooting

UPDATED March 28 at 8:12 p.m.

One of the two victims from the shooting in the 2100 block of South Wirt has died, according to Springfield Police. They say the 28 year old man was shot in the chest.

Police say the other victim, who was shot in the head, is still recovering in a local hospital.

Names of the victims have not been released.


Two people are being treated for life-threatening injuries after a shooting in the 2100-block of South Wirt Avenue in Springfield, according to Springfield police.

Police tell us they arrived just before 4:30 p.m. to find two adult male victims in the residence. Both were taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

No word on what led to the shooting. Police are interviewing neighbors and possible witnesses.
