Teen Obesity Increases Cancer Risk

Overweight teens may be at risk for developing cancer later in life. Researchers studied 1 million Israeli teen boys who were followed for an average of 19 years. Overweight teens had more than a two fold risk of developing cancer later in life. They also found teens from lower income families additionally had risks of developing an intestinal type of cancer.
