Illinois Lt. Gov. Sheila Simon is set to fly around the state to announce plans about her political future.
The Democrat sent an e-mail to supporters late Monday, saying she'd release very exciting news about her campaign on Wednesday.
For five months, Simon has kept quiet about her plans for next year, saying only that she'll seek another statewide office.
Simon's campaign manager has said she's been interested in comptroller, a position now held by Republican Judy Baar Topinka.
Simon is set to kick off her tour Wednesday in Chicago before visiting Springfield and Carbondale.
