Ball-Chatham School District Improvements

Updated: Friday, August 15 2014, 10:49 AM CDT
CHATHAM - Enjoy these final days of the Illinois State Fair, because one week from today students at the Ball-Chatham School District will be back in class.

Construction has been on-going all summer long and district officials say it will be completed by the time kids return.

Paid for by a 2012 referendum, $3.5 million of work was done at

Glenwood Middle School creating more classrooms, and getting new equipment.

Several other schools are also being worked on.

District leaders say, it's expected to be done before school starts back up.

"Schools are just like a home, that need improvements over time and if you delay them they become more costly over time. And we try very hard to make sure our learning environments are safe and are good learning environments for students," said Carrie Ruby, Superintendent, Ball-Chatham School District.

Phase three of the project is set to start in November.Ball-Chatham School District Improvements
