Child Sex Abuse Education

Updated: Wednesday, January 29 2014, 10:57 AM CST
A local Champaign organization is working to train adults on how to better identify child sex abuse. And it's being paid for through the Jerry Sandusky Settlement.

That agreement reached between Penn State and the "Big Ten" Universities awarded some of the settlement money to the University of Illinois.   Those funds are what will be used to pay for the local program  "Stewards of Children" that Urbana's "Crisis Cursery" and "Darkness to Light" have teamed up to offer. The class will focus on teaching the warning signs of sexual abuse and an adult's responsibility to report those signs.Child Sex Abuse Education
