Heat Advisory for Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, Indiana

IL, TN, IN, KT (AP) -- A heat advisory remains in effect until 7:00pm CDT Saturday.
Temperatures will continue their heat up through the 90s each afternoon over the next several afternoons as high pressure aloft builds into and across the nation's midsection.
These temperatures will combine with rather muggy conditions to produce afternoon heat index values from 100 to 105 several days in a row. The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity will create a situation in which heat illnesses are possible. Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside.
When possible, reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening.
Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing when possible and drink plenty of water.
Precautionary/preparedness actions: A heat advisory means that a period of hot temperatures is expected. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun and check up on relatives and neighbors. Make sure outside pets have plenty of water.

Updated: Tuesday, July 1 2014, 09:13 AM CDT
CLINTON -- Tom Pruzer served as a DeWitt County Board Member and was also Vice President of the local school board.

He was a father to five children, and today, the people in Clinton say they are mourning the loss of a great man.

And in this time of mourning they honor the man who devoted his life to public service.

was a true leader," said David Newberg, DeWitt County Board Member.
"Tom was an advocate for the people of this county, the community, and
obviously the children of this community. He was involved in so many
things and was good at all of them. I don't know how one man can have
that many irons in the fire and be that good at all that he did."

It was a common sentiment expressed by all who knew and worked with Tom Pruser.

we dealt with Tom on the county board he was always the voice of
reason," said Jered Shofner, DeWitt County Sheriff. "We always felt
comfortable going to Tom to discuss anything that was going on in the
county government. He was just a man who loved his family, loved his
community, and served both very well."

Pruser was the manager at Tate and Lyle in Heyworth.

His body was discovered by a co-worker Thursday. Officials say he was pinned under a utility tractor.

The accident is still under investigation by local authorities and by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.

Even though the accident was a tragedy, Pruser's work in the community will live on.

getting ready to open a new elementary school here in a couple months
and he was a big part of it," said Rod Wertz, Clinton School Board
President. "He was on the building committee to over see that and it's
just his experience and his friendship and truthfully he's just going to
be sadly, sadly missed."

Because the accident happened at his workplace, OSHA will lead the investigation.

In light of this recent accident, OSHA wants to remind those who work in dangerous industries like agriculture that there are things you can to do stay safe.

Funeral arrangements for Tom Pruzer are incomplete at this time.

In the meantime, a memorial fund has been set up in his honor at Clinton's First National Bank. Clinton Man Dies In Work Place Accident
