Comcast Contract with Springfield

Updated: Wednesday, July 2 2014, 03:34 PM CDT

SPRINGFIELD -- Springfield aldermen voted Tuesday night to extend the city's agreement with cable company Comcast.

The deal isn't exclusive.

What it really does, though, is give the company permission to operate in the city and to use the city's resources.

Because of Comcast's history of poor customer service, most city aldermen, along with many of you, aren't exactly pleased with the cable company.

Still, council voted 10 to 0 to approve the contract extension.

They tacked on an amendment allowing CWLP to look into making a cable run of its own.
