Danville Police Report Spike in Business Burglaries

Updated: Wednesday, February 12 2014, 11:07 AM CST
DANVILLE -- Danville police report eight burglaries at businesses  in the last month and a half.

The
suspects took cash and electronics like laptops and TV's-- but the
businesses owners say -- the damage done to the properties -- is greater
than losing the items.

Police believe some of the
burglaries could be related because the crimes were similar --  but only
one of the properties had a security camera and the quality was poor.

Now authorities ask residents to stay watchful and contact them if they know more.

"It's
hard given that they are taking place after hours but if anybody is out
and they see somebody walking around a business primarily in the back
obviously contact your local authorities, Danville Police," said Sgt.
Josh Campbell.

Sergeant Campbell says police believe more than one suspect may be involved.
