Decatur Shooting Follow Up

Updated: Tuesday, June 3 2014, 04:36 PM CDT
DECATUR -- We have new details on a shooting in Decatur that killed a 19-year-old over the weekend.

Investigators say the shooting may be related to an ongoing feud between two groups. The crime happened just after midnight Saturday morning.

Decatur police say they found 19-year-old Christopher King suffering from a gunshot wound in the 700-block of West Center Street. He died hours later at Decatur Memorial Hospital. Police are reviewing surveillance video from neighbors in the area.

"Basically the individual who was shot was just hanging out in the area. The information we received was that there were some dogs that started barking near a residence and he went over to see what was going on and that time there was shot that rang out," said David Dickerson, Deputy Chief Criminal Investigations in Decatur.

There are still no suspects in the case. Police want anyone with information that could help their investigation to call the Decatur police department. Or if you want to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 423-TIPS.Decatur Shooting Follow Up
