Former Marines Bike in Honor of Fellow Soldier

Updated: Monday, June 9 2014, 10:34 AM CDT
NATIONWIDE -- If someone were taking a trip from Boston to Seattle most would consider flying. Not two former Marines. They are making the trip on their bicycles. Denny Salisbury and Jay Knight left Boston on April 11th and have been stopping at children's hospitals all along the way. They hope to raise money for the child's play charity in honor of a friend and fellow marine who was killed by a sniper in Iraq. So far they have logged about 2,000 miles and have a little more than 2,400 remaining. Their deadline is to be in Seattle by late august which had made for some long days.

"It's not exactly a tour where people think you get to stop and hangout in each town. We are riding from 10am sometimes to four in the afternoon," says Denny Salisbury.
