Memorial Holiday Shootings: Champaign Police Investigate 4 Incidents

Updated: Wednesday, May 28 2014, 12:54 PM CDT
CHAMPAIGN -- Today, around 12:45 p.m. Champaign Police responded to another call of shots fired in the 1200 block of Neil.

Authorities
say they'd gotten multiple calls from residents hearing gun fire -- but
found no property damage, bullet casing and luckily, no injuries.

Today's
is at least the fourth call police have responded to since last
Thursday. On Friday, a 16 year old boy told police two men shot him near
Eureka and State streets.

Authorities say they are aggressively hunting for suspects.

"We've
also increased our patrols in the area. Doing a lot more of a direct
patrol. So anybody in the area that is possibly related to any of these
crimes, we're gonna be getting out stopping them for some, maybe traffic
offenses or maybe other offenses that we can find so we can gather some
information and see what's going on," Sgt. Bruce Ramseyer said.

If you have any information, you are urged to contact Champaign Police or Crime Stoppers (373-TIPS) to leave an anonymous tip.Memorial Holiday Shootings: Champaign Police Investigate 4 Incidents
