Oakwood Won't Have One Superintendent Next Year, They'll Have Two

Updated: Thursday, May 8 2014, 03:31 PM CDT

Oakwood school board won't see a new superintendent next year. Instead, they'll see double.

Oakwood's President says they will hire two interim superintendents and neither of them want to be hired long term. According to officials, there have to be two people for the jub because both are retired superintendents and they cannot work more than 100 days.

The duties will be shared and the school board says they are working on a schedule now.

One student says having two people for the ob won't make a big difference.

"Some parts I think I'll notice but other parts I don't think I will. If something changes or maybe like they cut a sport to help out with something maybe that will change but that's pretty much it."

The school board president says having two people won't cost the district more money. Instead it will save about $30,000.

Again, the board did not find a suitable term person for the job this time around, but plan to resume the search in the fall.
