Updated: Tuesday, May 6 2014, 05:17 PM CDT

MONTGOMERY COUNTY -- Students and staff at Lincolnwood Junior / Senior High School are in mourning. Grieving their principal and co-superintendent who was died in a car crash Friday night.

Chad Langheim had been the principal at the school since 2010. Now a makeshift memorial sits outside the school's door where students have sketched memories of their late principal on the sidewalk.

Despite the tragedy on Friday, the high school's senior prom went on as scheduled on saturday.

They say that's what Principal Langheim would have wanted.

"He talked frequently about how much he really enjoyed and cared about the people in Panhandle and the students. He wanted to see them succeed and reached out to a lot of different kids," said Co-Superintendent, Aaron Hopper.

The visitation for Chad Langheim will take place this Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Lincolnwood High School in Raymond.

The funeral is scheduled for 10:00 Saturday morning at the First United Methodist Church in Springfield.
