Appeals Court Rules Term Limits Cannot Appear On Ballot

A state appeals court rules a question about term limits for state lawmakers cannot appear on the November ballot.

The court upheld a ruling by a Cook County judge earlier this summer, who deemed the plan unconstitutional.

The initiative, led by Republican Bruce Rauner, would limit lawmakers to eight years in office.

Rauner is asking the State Supreme Court to hear the case. However, Friday is the deadline to finalize November's ballot. Appeals Court Rules Term Limits Cannot Appear On Ballot
