Gov. Quinn Does Ice Challenge

Updated: Monday, August 18 2014, 10:30 AM CDT
Governor Pat Quinn takes on a challenge and a good cause.

On Saturday, the governor and members of his campaign team took part in the ice bucket challenge and poured a bucket of ice cold water on their heads.

It's part of the effort to raise awareness and money to combat ALS which is also known as Lou Gehrig's disease. The governor is a baseball fan, and a diehard fan of the Chicago White Sox.

He has challenged Sox players Paul Konerko, Gordon Beckham and Chris Sale to take the ice bucket challenge.

In less than a month, it's raised more than 10 million dollars to fight ALS.
