ISP Patrols Chicago City Streets

ILLINOIS -- Illinois state police squads began rolling into the Chicago police station this morning. From there 40 ISP troopers will pair up with Chicago police officers in an effort to find and arrest fugitives. That breaks down to about 20 to 25 so called "surge teams" each composed of five Chicago police officers and two troopers. It's not an army of cops, but some appreciate the additional police presence. "We need it Chicago really needs it it's about time for more law enforcement to be on the streets. Right now there are about 7,300 active warrants for those teams to address.The FBI will also help out by putting agents on the streets.
