LLCC to sponsor College For Kids Program

Updated: Wednesday, June 11 2014, 11:17 PM CDT

Lincoln Land Community College is sponsoring
their 6th annual College For Kids program. It's for students in grades 3 through 8.

This week long session includes various courses,
like animation art, where students study the works of disney through
sketching and painting. There's also a Baking Basics and a Sign Language Class. The instructor is hearing impaired, so students learn by watching and doing.

Program Coordinator, Jessica Ingold says these sessions provide independence and preparation for the future.
"They get to pick on their registration forms what they're signing up for like a college student would when they get older," Ingold said.  Then as they participate in the class they have the freedom to express themselves and be creative without the preasure of studying for a test..or preparing for an exam or speech in the end..it's a no preassure full relief enrichment activity in the summer time."

While it is too late to pre-register for this week's session, the next one will be in july at Lincoln Land Community College in Springfield.
Prices range from $125 to $185 dollars
If you're interested in enrolling your child in this program, you can find the dates of each session and additional information on our website under the webwatch tab or here.
