Quinn Awards Hillary Clinton with the Order of Lincoln

Updated: Monday, May 5 2014, 10:32 AM CDT

ILLINOIS -- Hillary Clinton was back in her childhood city of Chicago Saturday night accepting an award from Illinois governor Pat Quinn. The former secretary of state, senator, and first lady was honored with the Lincoln medallion, which is Illinois' highest state honor. As usual, questions about her presidential ambitions were on the mind of many, but Clinton only spoke of the high honor and her childhood memories. Mrs. Clinton fondly recalled her childhood in Illinois in park ridge.

"I particularly want to thank all of you who are supporting the scholarships that come from this work, that is the most important investment that can be made in the next generation of Chicagoians and Illinoisans and Americans who will perhaps be moved by the example of President Lincoln and continue to do all that needs to be done to unify this exceptional country on behalf of the values that he gave his life for," says the former Secretary of State.

Supporters included friends from her days growing up in Chicago and Park Ridge. Previous recipients of the Lincoln medallion include poet Gwendolyn Brooks and President Ronald Reagan.
