Heat Advisory for Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, Indiana

IL, TN, IN, KT (AP) -- A heat advisory remains in effect until 7:00pm CDT Saturday.
Temperatures will continue their heat up through the 90s each afternoon over the next several afternoons as high pressure aloft builds into and across the nation's midsection.
These temperatures will combine with rather muggy conditions to produce afternoon heat index values from 100 to 105 several days in a row. The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity will create a situation in which heat illnesses are possible. Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside.
When possible, reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening.
Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing when possible and drink plenty of water.
Precautionary/preparedness actions: A heat advisory means that a period of hot temperatures is expected. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun and check up on relatives and neighbors. Make sure outside pets have plenty of water.

UPDATE: Abduction Suspect Arrested, Victim Found

Champaign Police Department officials say that the man suspected of abducting a woman at Market Place Mall on Wednesday is now in FBI custody. The suspect and the victim were found in Houston, Texas early Saturday morning.  The victim, 19-year-old M

onica Ramirez, is receiving a medical evaluation and shelter.


    Eduardo Guerro Cortez was arrested at about 2:30 a.m. Saturday. The FBI suspects him of forcing the teenager into a Chevrolet Silverado on Wednesday.

  Champaign Police Deputy Chief Troy Daniels says the victim was at a shopping mall with a male friend when three men approached them Wednesday afternoon, and the suspect allegedly forced her into the truck.



   Cortez has been charged in Illinois with aggravated battery for an alleged threat to the man who was with his former girlfriend.

This investigation is continuing, and Champaign Police and the FBI are still looking for the second suspect who may be armed with a knife. He is being described as a Hispanic male with short hair who was last seen wearing a red shirt with blue shorts.
