Money, Marriage and Your HealthBy Health Day..being the breadwinner may cost you your health! The percentage of American wives who out earn their husbands has grown from 4 to 22-percent in the last 2 decades So it might not surprise you to learn that men whose wives earn more than they do are more likely to use erectile dysfunction medication than men who bring home the bigger paycheck. The stats come from a recent study out of Denmark that looked at more than 200-thousand married couples from 1997 to 2006. On the other side, wives who out earn their husbands were more likely to suffer from insomnia...and to use anti-anxiety medications. Researchers did not find these effects for unmarried couples or for men earning less than their wives before tying the knot. I'm Dr. Cindy Haines of HealthDay TV with the news doctors are reading health news for healthier living. |
