Local hospitals received shipments from company linked to meningitis outbreak

The Food and Drug Administration has released a list of the facilities that received shipments from the pharmacy linked to the nation-wide fungal meningitis outbreak. More than a dozen are in our area. Story by Newschannel 20.

(The other area providers who used medications from the Massachusetts pharmacy include: Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln, Carle Hospital in Urbana, Decatur Memorial Hospital, Hillsboro Area Hospital, Pana Community Hospital, Passavant Area Hospital in Jacksonville, Provena Covenant Medical Center in Urbana, Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Mattoon and St. Mary's Hospital Pharmacy in Decatur.

If you think you received an injection with a product shipped by the New England Compounding Center after May 21, the FDA urges you to keep an eye out for any signs of infection. The symptoms include: fever, headache, stiff neck, nausea, vomiting, sensitivity to light and altered mental status.)
