Chicago braces for season’s first winter storm

A winter storm is slated to hit the Midwest on Thursday and Chicago officials say they are ready.

The department of streets and sanitation has been actively preparing for the upcoming winter since August.

This is the first chance so far this season for the city and suburbs to roll out the plows and salt trucks.
