‘American Idol’ Host Ryan Seacrest gets candid with Fox Charlotte's Derek James.

Seacrest made the appearance during the second round of Idol auditions that were being held this week at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

During the conversation, Seacrest talks about his connection with the young talent, their determination and the history of talent in the Charlotte area.
