Fried Morel Mushrooms

- 1 lb fresh picked morel mushrooms (soaked in salt water and halved)
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 1 tsp. garlic powder
- 1 tsp. onion powder
- 3 eggs
- 2 Tbsp. sriracha
- 3/4 cup buttermilk
- 3 cups good quality oil (one with a high-smoke point, such as peanut)

Heat oil in large skillet (cast iron) to 375 degrees.  Mix flour and dry ingredients in a shallow bowl.  Beat egg, sriracha and buttermilk in separate bowl. Coat mushrooms in flour, dredge in egg, then batter in flour again. Drop immediately into heated oil. Cook for 3-4 minutes, turn and cook additional 3-4 minutes until golden brown. Drain on paper towel and finish with a fine salt. Serve warm.
