Who can Enter: Individuals or Groups who live in the Champaign & Springfield-Decatur DMA, county’s included are Cass, Morgan, Menard, Sangamon, Logan, De Witt, Macon, Christian, Shelby, Effingham, Moultrie, Piatt, Cumberland, Coles, Douglas, Champaign, Ford, Iroquois, Vermilion, Edgar, Warren. Participants must be 12 years of age or older as of April 9, 2011, who are legal U.S. citizens or eligible to work full time in the U.S., and who have lawful access to the Internet. Contestants must be 13 years old or older to submit their own entry online. Contestants who are 12 years old at the time of entry must have the parent or legal guardian of the contestant submit their entry online.

How to Enter: No purchase necessary to enter or win. Visit www.foxillinois.com and go to the “YouNews” Section. Upload a video audition of you singing one song with your voice only. Entries with musical or vocal accompaniment will be disqualified. Only one entry per person. The contest begins when posted on April 22nd, 2011, and all entries must be received by 11:59 p.m. local time on Wednesday, May 11, 2011. The winner will be chosen by a panel of judges on May 12th 2011.

Prizes: One (1) winner or group will receive an Audition Pass to “The X Factor” auditions in Dallas, Texas on May 26th 2011, round trip air-fair from Central Illinois to Dallas Tx, and hotel accommodations. Flight departs on May 25th and returns May 27th. Hotel accommodations are for two nights at a hotel chosen by FOX Illinois, the number of rooms depends on the number of individuals in the group (if applicable) at FOX Illinois’ discretion. Winners under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Total travel expense provided by FOX Illinois may not exceed $3000. The winner is responsible for all other travel related expenses, including meals, ground transportation, gratuities, surcharges and any other miscellaneous expenses.

Eligibility: No employee of GOCOM Media of Illinois on behalf of WRSP-TV and WCCU, his or her spouse, or immediate family members shall be eligible to win. Immediate family members include, but are not necessarily limited to parents, siblings, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents. Additionally, GOCOM Media of Illinois reserves the right to disqualify any other person from participation in a contest where such participation would, in the sole opinion for GOCOM Media of Illinois, compromise or give the appearance of compromising the integrity of the contest. No person shall be eligible to win more than one time.

All submissions must be original and conform to Sponsor’s then-current standards and practices and policies as established or determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. Without limiting the foregoing, submissions may not contain profanity or references to violence, or demean any gender, race, religion or sexual orientation. Contestants must own the copyright to, or otherwise have all necessary rights in, their entry materials, except the song. Entry constitutes an unlimited perpetual license to Sponsor to use entry materials on its websites, television stations and in any and all media whether now known or hereinafter invented.

The entrant selected by the station as a winner must provide valid photo identification to claim prizes. If any individual fails to provide such proof of identity or if the station discovers the ineligibility or the caller as outlined in the official rules, the caller can be disqualified from winning any prize. If GOCOM Media of Illinois is unable to obtain this information for any reason, GOCOM Media of Illinois may select the next eligible person as the winner. All winners must sign an affidavit of eligibility and release/waiver that releases GOCOM Media of Illinois from any and all liability, claims, demands, or actions resulting from acceptance of the prizes awarded. Winners may be required to sign additional documents in connection with “The X Factor” audition process. Failure to sign the eligibility affidavit and release consent form will result in the forfeiture of prizes. By participating, winners consent to the use of their names, likeness, and/or voice without compensation for advertising, public relations, and promotion. All federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations apply. The winners are responsible for all local, county, state, and federal taxes on prizes.

All prizes are non-transferable and non-assignable. The decision of GOCOM Media of Illinois with regard to all matters to the contest, including matters not specifically addressed in these rules, shall be final. Prizes not claimed in accordance with these rules will be forfeited and not rewarded.

GOCOM Media of Illinois shall preserve such right to cancel the promotion in whole or in part and to change the start and end dates of the sweepstakes to the extent necessary to adjust to events of force majeure as well as to changes to production and broadcast schedules, without financial or legal liability of nature whatsoever. It is expressly understood and agreed that in the event the Series is cancelled or postponed, FOX shall have the right to cancel the prize hereunder without substitution or compensation therefore. In the event production of American Idol is cancelled or postponed, the ticket portion of the prizing may be cancelled without substitution or compensation.

The odds of winning will depend on the number of entries received. All entries become the property of GOCOM Media of Illinois. Sponsor assumes no liability for lost, damaged, misdirected, illegible, or incomplete entries, or for human or technological errors, failures, or malfunctions in the transmission or receipt of entries.
